Embark on a grand adventure crossing the majestic High Atlas Mountains to the gateway of the Sahara. This full-day private tour takes you from Casablanca to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa" for its famous film studios.
The highlight of the day is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning fortified village (Ksar) made of earthen clay that has featured in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. While it is a long drive, the breathtaking scenery of the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m) makes every mile worth it.
Itinerary
07:00 AM – Hotel Pickup
Early morning pickup from your hotel in Casablanca. Drive towards Marrakech and then ascend into the High Atlas Mountains.
Tizi n'Tichka Pass
Panoramic stop at the highest mountain pass in North Africa (2,260m). Enjoy spectacular views of Berber villages clinging to the mountainside.
Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah
Cross the river to explore the ancient Ksar. Walk through the narrow alleys to the top for a view of the valley. Lunch break in the village.
Ouarzazate & Cinema Studios
Short drive to Ouarzazate. Photo stop at Taourirt Kasbah and an optional visit to the Atlas Film Studios to see movie sets.
09:00 PM – Return to Casablanca
Relaxing drive back via the highway. Arrive at your hotel in the evening.

Driving Time: This is a long day trip with approx. 4.5 - 5 hours driving each way.
Mountain Roads: The Tizi n'Tichka pass is winding. If you get motion sickness, please prepare accordingly.
Walking: Wear comfortable shoes for walking up the hill to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.

A very long day but Ait Ben Haddou is absolutely incredible. Seeing the Atlas mountains covered in snow was unexpected. Driver was excellent.
