Escape the bustle of Casablanca and journey south to the coastal gem of El Jadida (formerly known as Mazagan). This UNESCO World Heritage site offers a fascinating blend of Portuguese and Moroccan architecture, massive fortified walls, and stunning Atlantic views.
Your private day trip includes a comfortable drive along the coast, a visit to the mystical Portuguese Cistern (famous for its reflection and use in Othello), and a walk along the ramparts where cannons still point out to sea. It’s the perfect excursion for history lovers, photographers, and those seeking fresh sea air and excellent seafood.

Enter the fortress walls. Visit the Church of the Assumption and walk the star-shaped ramparts for panoramic ocean views.
Explore the underground Gothic vaulted cistern. A hauntingly beautiful spot famous for its light shaft.
Free time for lunch near the port. On the return leg, we stop at Azemmour to see the Oum Er-Rbia river.
Drop-off at your original pickup location.
Cistern Opening Hours: 9 AM - 6 PM. Sometimes closed for restoration/filming without notice.
Weather: It can be windier and cooler on the coast than in Casablanca. Bring a light jacket.
Walking: Moderate walking on uneven ramparts. Wear comfortable shoes.
A hidden gem! The Cistern was magical. Our driver Samir was excellent and drove very safely. Highly recommend this over the busy Marrakech trip if you want a relaxing day.
Beautiful architecture. It reminded me of Portugal. The seafood lunch was the best we had in Morocco.
We loved the contrast between Casablanca and El Jadida. Walking on the ramparts with the sea breeze was lovely. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history.
Great day trip. The car was comfortable and the driver spoke good English. The Portuguese cistern is a must-see for photographers!
Perfect organization. We were picked up from our hotel on time. The visit was paced perfectly, not too rushed. Lunch by the sea was delicious.
